PARADE

The 2008 Independence Day festivities begin with our annual parade on July 4th at 9:30 a.m. The parade begins at Cordage Park Marketplace on Court Street in North Plymouth and winds its way down Court Street through downtown Plymouth and Main Street. The route continues onto Main Street Extension, turning left onto Water Street. The reviewing stand is located next to Plymouth Rock.

For best parade viewing, we recommend Coles Hill, (across from Plymouth Rock), Benny’s Plaza, Memorial Hall, Holmes Field (North Plymouth), and the Plymouth County Courthouse, although there really are no bad viewing points along the parade route.

The fireworks will begin between 9:15 and 9:30 p.m. The fireworks are lit off on a barge in Plymouth Harbor and can be seen from many vantage points around town.

CONCERT

The Legion Bud Band, starts at 7:00 p.m., and ends just before the fireworks begin, at approximately 9:15, with the playing of the 1812 Overture and the firing of the Howitzers which are located on the waterfront facing the harbor.
